So I lied (to Carrie).
I attempted to write my blog yesterday about Wednesday...and call her. I ended up going to the gym finally! Then I came home and translated my Greek sentences (which turned out to not to be due today. 'Tis alright, though. It'll give me more time to work on reading my book. I'm trying to get it done early, because I'm going to visit Carrie the weekend the 10 page paper about the book is due. And I have a day off this coming Wednesday, because testing is being done. Thus I shall declare it "Hammett Day." (Hammett is the writer of the book I have to write a 10 page paper for).
Anyways, away from the gloomy talk of papers and lying friends....
The highlight of my day today was the fact that I got a free pumpkin chai latte!!!! Yes, it was the most delicious hot drink I've ever tasted. The fact that it was free (somehow) contributed to its yummy taste! Did you know that "free" had a flavor? Well, it does. It tastes like pumpkin chai latte!
OH! and before I go and do homework until the dark of night, I should record the crazy events of Wednesday.
Part 1: I taught the mission kids for the first time, which turned out very well! They eagerly listened and asked questions! The only thing that I need to work on is: controlling their craziness! Some were standing up, some were jittery in their seats, and some even got up and stood by me in the front of the classroom in order to follow along when I read the Bible verses! I expected them to be antsy, but I didn't expect them to be so involved with what I was saying. These kids' ages ranged from 6 to 9, and they were uberly smart! I couldn't believe their answers to my questions! I had my doubts about my lesson being "too deep" for them, but I had to try it out. People always underestimate how much kids can learn, and I learned this first-hand.
Part 2: I was apprehensive when it came to leading the college study group, but I was confident in the passage I was reading. I knew I would be awkward sometimes, because my transitions were not always smooth and I didn't always know how to articulate what I thought. But I was honest, and I also knew that others would feel the same way as I did about prayer. It did start a good discussion. At the end, John suggested that instead of praying aloud, we would all pray silently. It was a good prayer time! On the ride home, Jason told me that he always has one good long prayer by himself in Logan Valley, and this is was the first time that he prayed like that outside Logan Valley. That was the greatest feedback I got! Now I just pray that I don't get a big head. My teaching produced authentic results only because God gave me an authentic faith. I just babbled on about the scriptures and the application that I took from it. Not to mention, when I was contemplating the topic I would speak about, it seemed like God affirmed it. The chapel speaker preached on prayer. My teachers were mentioning prayer. And the chapter I had to read for redemption and reconciliation was on prayer. At first, I thought that all the teaching would put words in my mouth that were not mine. But I was wrong. Even though all this helped me understand prayer better, it was what was on my heart that spoke. sooo...I guess I'll stop talking now, and do my homework. Good day! (I was about to say "night"...then I realized...yea, anyways).
